David Love

David Love is Managing Director, Insurance Solutions at Brigade Capital Management, LP, where he is based in Los Angeles, CA. Since joining Brigade in May 2023, he leads the development and implementation of insurance-specific investment solutions, focusing on structuring credit-oriented portfolios and managing insurer relationships within the firm’s global platform. Brigade Capital is known for its expertise in below-investment-grade credit, distressed debt, and multi-asset credit strategies, and David’s role involves tailoring these offerings to fit the needs of insurance sector clients.

With over 20 years in investment management, David has built extensive experience across credit, alternatives, and insurance asset management. Before Brigade, he was Institutional Sales Executive at Western Asset Management and held senior roles at Hartford Investment Management Company (HIMCO), Advent Capital Management, and PIMCO, with dedicated focus on fixed income, alternative investments, and credit solutions for institutional and insurance clients. Earlier positions included Treesdale Partners, Winklevoss Consultants, and Merrill Lynch Canada, further strengthening his expertise in asset allocation, risk management, and portfolio construction.

David holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Calgary and is completing an Executive MBA at UCLA Anderson School of Management, graduating in 2024. His broad knowledge base spans asset allocation, fixed income, distressed debt, hedge funds, convertible arbitrage, and capital structure investing, marking him as a notable contributor to structuring, managing, and innovating insurance-focused investment solutions in the global credit markets.
