Investment Strategy

Alyeska Investment Group employs a discretionary, highly speculative investment approach focused on generating long-term appreciation through the active management of equity-focused portfolios. The strategy includes sector-specific, market-neutral sub-portfolios and various complementary equity-based investment strategies. Alyeska invests in a wide array of instruments—equities, corporate and convertible bonds, options, futures, credit and equity derivatives—using both long and short positions across exchange-listed and OTC securities. Risk mitigation is achieved through deliberate portfolio construction to lessen systematic risk, and the firm also uses derivatives, currency contracts, and participates in IPOs as part of its risk management and alpha generation processes.
