John Elton

John Elton is a Partner at Greycroft, based in New York City, where he works closely with portfolio companies to support their operational scaling and strategic growth. He is recognized for his expertise in venture capital investment and for guiding startups in the advertising, digital marketing, ecommerce, enterprise software, and financial software sectors. As a key member of Greycroft’s investment team since 2013, John serves as board observer for companies such as PebblePost and Button, and has played instrumental roles in successful investments leading to notable exits including TripleLift, Chango, Vizu, and Babble.

Before joining Greycroft, John was a Managing Partner at iNovia Capital, where he led investments in several high-growth startups and helped orchestrate acquisitions by major companies like Disney, Nielsen, Rubicon Project, and Vista Equity Partners. Earlier in his career, he worked in strategic planning at 24/7 Media, advised dMarc Broadcasting before its sale to Google, and started at Veronis Suhler Stevenson, an investment firm focused on media and communications.

John holds an MBA from New York University’s Leonard N. Stern School of Business and a BA in Economics from Lehigh University. He is actively involved in mentoring emerging entrepreneurs through NYU’s Entrepreneurship program and continues to be a prominent figure in the NYC startup ecosystem, leveraging his broad expertise in finance and marketing to drive innovation and value creation.
